HISTORY
Having started his hospitality journey at the age of eighteen with Central Pizza Bar in Kent, David went on to set up another successful pizza restaurant in Canterbury, creating a popular and busy delivery service before food straight to your door was the norm.
He then went on to create a franchise and ran operations that oversaw fifty delivery units over an eight-year period.
David dipped his toes into a variety of different areas over the next fifteen years, including successful fish and chips restaurants and pubs. However, he always vowed to return to pizza in some form one day, as this remained a highlight of his career in hospitality.
It’s now 2025 and David is opening Detroit Club — a new stylish pizza-feasting hub in the heart of Brighton, serving a focaccia-style base and a cheesy crust to die for. We create our own unique blend of dough, mixing Sicilian focaccia with classic Detroit American style to achieve the perfect base. Pop along and hear the crunch for yourself.
